New Hardcore History Addendum released
"Superhumanly Inhuman" deals with the Holocaust in the Second World War
Holocaust historian Dan Stone's publisher recently contacted us and asked if we would be interested in talking to professor Stone about his latest Holocaust-related book (now being released in the USA in paperback form). I thought about the fact that we really had never done a Hardcore History show of any kind focusing specifically on The Holocaust and thought this might be a good opportunity to do so with one of the foremost experts on the subject.
But I realized quickly that we would have to do more than conduct a high-minded intellectual discussion about something so emotionally overwhelming as one of the worst genocides in global history. So I spent about two hours of the podcast before the audio of the interview starts trying to inject the show with some of the background historical information and the emotional element that would help to set up the interview with professor Stone. The stories and eyewitness accounts that I used are emotionally gut-wrenching though..so be forewarned.
The subtext for all this is the danger posed by extremist governments, and this idea runs through the entire show. The Holocaust is just one of the most horrible examples of what has occurred when dictators and autocrats wielding unchecked power create havoc among humans caught in the gears of history. In the 20th century these autocrats are often driven by extremist ideologies, so we delve into that as well.

Also, just a reminder that I am doing a limited live speaking tour in March and April. I will be in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Portland and New York City (if these go well we'd consider doing other cities later).
