"More Steppe Stories"
We have just released a new Hardcore History Addendum interview about the fascinating tribal peoples of the Eurasian Steppe
Anyone who has heard much of my work knows how interested I have always been in the various tribal (and often nomadic) peoples of the Eurasian Steppe. Mongols, Huns, Turks, Scythians and many more famous tribes and tribal confederations have been of enormous historical importance over thousands of years. It is hard to understand global history without taking their impact into account.
We have done a good number of Hardcore History shows where tribes from the Steppe are major players in the story ( "Wrath of the Khans" for example ). In fact the twelfth show we ever did was simply called "Steppe Stories".
We have just released an interview that I recently did with former Tulane Professor Kenneth W. Harl about this subject. His book Empires of the Steppes: A History of the Nomadic Tribes Who Shaped Civilization has just been released in hardcover form and is a great one to have on your shelf if you are as interested as I am in these compelling peoples.
If you would like to hear the interview you can find it here.
Stay Safe everyone!
